MINI Cooper, Cooper S, Clubman, and Countryman models all come through our shop regularly. Since MINI is part of the BMW family, these cars share many components and diagnostic systems with BMW vehicles. We use the same ISTA software and coding tools for MINI that we use for BMW.

Our MINI services include oil changes, brake work, clutch replacement (on manual transmission models), turbo system repairs, and cooling system maintenance. We also handle timing chain replacements on the N14 and N18 engines that power the Cooper S and JCW models.

Common MINI Issues We Fix

The turbocharged engines in Cooper S and John Cooper Works models are known for oil leaks, particularly from the valve cover gasket and the turbo oil return line. These leaks tend to appear around 50,000 to 70,000 miles and should be addressed before oil reaches the exhaust or belt.

Timing chain rattle on cold start is another common MINI issue, especially on 2007-2012 models with the N14 engine. The chain tensioner and guides wear out, and if the chain jumps timing, the engine can be damaged. We recommend addressing any cold-start rattle promptly.
